Opening الافتتاحية
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي غَمَرَ الْعِبَادَ بِلَطَائِفِهِ، وَعَمَّرَ قُلُوبَهُمْ بِأَنْوَارِ الدِّينِ وَوَظَائِفِهِ
فَسُبْحَانَهُ مَا أَعْظَمَ شَأْنَهُ وَأَقْوَى سُلْطَانَهُ، وَأَتَمَّ لُطْفَهُ وَأَعَمَّ إِحْسَانَهُ
وَنَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَنَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ الَّذِي أَفَاضَ عَلَى النُّفُوسِ ذَوَارِفَ عَوَارِفِهِ، وَأَبْرَزَ عَلَى الْقَرَائِحِ حَقَائِقَ مَعَارِفِهِ، صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَعَلَى آلِهِ وَأَصْحَابِهِ مَفَاتِيحِ الْهُدَى وَمَصَابِيحِ الدُّجَى، وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمًا
أَمَّا بَعْدُ، فَإِنَّ الصَّلَاةَ عِمَادُ الدِّينِ، وَعِصَامُ الْيَقِينِ، وَرَأْسُ الْقُرُبَاتِ وَغُرَّةُ الطَّاعَاتِ
Khutbāt al-Aḥkām, Shaykh Ashraf ʿAlī Thānvī (Raḥimahullāh)
All praises be to Allah Who showers His servants with His bounties And Who causes the enlightenment of His deen and its obligations to settle in their hearts. And all glory to be Him, how great is His authority! And powerful is His sovereignty. How perfect His grace and how all-encompassing His bounties and favours.We bear witness that there is no one worthy of worship except Allah alone, without partner or associate and we bear witness that Sayeduna Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and messenger.? May the choicest blessings of Allah descend upon him, and his offspring, and his companions, who are the key-men towards guidance and the shining lamps in the depths of darkness. O muslims, Verily the salaah is the very foundation of deen. It is a stronghold of faith, and the most important acts of worship whereby to draw nearer to Allah and it is also the best among the acts of obedience towards Allah.
Admonition & Advice الوعظ والنصيحة
وَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ: بُنِيَ الْإِسْلَامُ عَلَى خَمْسٍ: شَهَادَةِ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولُهُ، وَإِقَامِ الصَّلَاةِ، وَإِيتَاءِ الزَّكَاةِ، وَالْحَجِّ، وَصَوْمِ رَمَضَانَ
Sahih al-Bukhari 8
Rasulullah ﷺ has said: "Islam is built upon five pillars: i) the bearing of witness that there is no god except Allah and that Muhammad ﷺ is His servant and messenger, ii) performing Salaah, iii) the paying of zakaah, iv) performing of haj, and v) the fast of Ramadaan." (Bukhary, Muslim)
وَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ: خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ افْتَرَضَهُنَّ اللَّهُ، مَنْ أَحْسَنَ وُضُوءَهُنَّ، وَصَلَّاهُنَّ لِوَقْتِهِنَّ، وَأَتَمَّ رُكُوعَهُنَّ وَخُشُوعَهُنَّ، كَانَ لَهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ أَنْ يَغْفِرَ لَهُ، وَمَنْ لَمْ يَفْعَلْ فَلَيْسَ لَهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ عَهْدٌ، إِنْ شَاءَ غَفَرَ لَهُ وَإِنْ شَاءَ عَذَّبَهُ
Sunan Abi Dawud 425
He also said: "Allah has made five salaahs compulsory upon you. Whosoever performs proper ablution for them and performs them punctually, properly performing the rukoo' and with proper devotion and sincerity, will have a covenant from Allah that He will forgive them. And whosoever does not so so, has no such covenant. If Allah so wishes, He may forgive them and if He wishes, He may punish them." (Ahmad, Abu Dawood)
وَقَالَ عَلَيْهِ الصَّلَاةُ وَالسَّلَامُ: وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ، لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِحَطَبٍ فَيُحْطَبَ، وَأَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَيُؤَذَّنَ لَهَا، ثُمَّ آمُرَ رَجُلًا فَيَؤُمَّ النَّاسَ، ثُمَّ أُخَالِفَ إِلَى رِجَالٍ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ الصَّلَاةَ، فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ
Sahih al-Bukhari 644
He also said: "I swear by Him in whose Hand is my life: I intended to order that wood should be brought and to give the order that salaah should be performed and that the azaan should be given and then order a person to lead the people in salaah. Then I wanted to proceed to the houses of those who remained absent from the salaah and burn down their houses upon them."
Qurʾānic Verses الآيات القرآنية
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
وَأَقِمِ الصَّلَاةَ طَرَفَيِ النَّهَارِ وَزُلَفًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ ۚ إِنَّ الْحَسَنَاتِ يُذْهِبْنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ ۚ ذَٰلِكَ ذِكْرَىٰ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ
Sūrah Hūd, 11:114
Allay says: "And perform salaah at the ends of the day and during the approaches of the night. Verily good deeds removes evil deeds. This is an admonition for those who remember Allah."
Second Khutbah الخطبة الثانية
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ أَسْتَعِينُهُ وَأَسْتَغْفِرُهُ وَنَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ شُرُورِ أَنْفُسِنَا
مَنْ يَهْدِ اللَّهُ فَلَا مُضِلَّ لَهُ وَمَنْ يُضْلِلْ فَلَا هَادِيَ لَهُ
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ أَرْسَلَهُ بِالْحَقِّ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ السَّاعَةِ مَنْ يُطِعِ اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ فَقَدْ رَشَدَ وَمَنْ يَعْصِهِمَا فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَضُرُّ إِلَّا نَفْسَهُ وَلَا يَضُرُّ اللَّهَ شَيْئًا
أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
إِنَّ اللَّهَ وَمَلَائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ ، يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَسَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيمًا ،
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ عَبْدِكَ وَرَسُولِكَ وَصَلِّ عَلَى الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمَاتِ وَبَارِكْ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَزْوَاجِهِ وَذُرِّيَّتِهِ
قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: أَرْحَمُ أُمَّتِي بِأُمَّتِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَأَشَدُّهُمْ فِي أَمْرِ اللَّهِ عُمَرُ وَأَصْدَقُهُمْ حَيَاءً عُثْمَانُ وَأَقْضَاهُمْ عَلِيٌّ وَفَاطِمَةُ سَيِّدَةُ نِسَاءِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَالْحَسَنُ وَالْحُسَيْنُ سَيِّدَا شَبَابِ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ وَحَمْزَةُ أَسَدُ اللَّهِ وَأَسَدُ رَسُولِهِ اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْعَبَّاسِ وَلِوَلَدِهِ مَغْفِرَةً ظَاهِرَةً وَبَاطِنَةً لَا تُغَادِرُ ذَنْبًا اَللَّهَ اللَّهَ فِي أَصْحَابِي لَا تَتَّخِذُوهُمْ غَرَضًا مِن بَعْدِي فَمَنْ أَحَبَّهُمْ فَبِحُبِّي أَحَبَّهُمْ وَمَنْ أَبْغَضَهُمْ فَبِبُغْضِي أَبْغَضَهُمْ وَخَيْرُ أُمَّتِي قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ
اَللَّهُمَّ أَيِّدِ الْإِسْلَامَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ - اَللَّهُمَّ انْصُرْ مَنْ نَصَرَ دِينَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ - اَللَّهُمَّ أَرِنَا الْحَقَّ حَقًّا وَارْزُقْنَا اتِّبَاعَهُ - وَأَرِنَا الْبَاطِلَ بَاطِلًا وَارْزُقْنَا اجْتِنَابَهُ - اَللَّهُمَّ ثَبِّتْنَا عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ - اَللَّهُمَّ نَوِّرْ قُلُوبَنَا بِنُورِ الْإِيمَانِ - اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ الْأَحْيَاءِ مِنْهُمْ وَالْأَمْوَاتِ
إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْعَدْلِ وَالْإِحْسَانِ وَإِيتَاءِ ذِي الْقُرْبَىٰ وَيَنْهَىٰ عَنِ الْفَحْشَاءِ وَالْمُنكَرِ وَالْبَغْيِ يَعِظُكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ فَاذْكُرُونِي أَذْكُرْكُمْ وَاشْكُرُوا لِي وَلَا تَكْفُرُونِ
