About
This is a library of complete Friday khutbahs in Arabic. Each one is a whole khutbah, first and second, ready to be read from - not an outline, and not something to be assembled before it can be used.
Why it is only in Arabic
The khutbah is an act of worship, like the ṣalāh, and it is delivered in Arabic. So no translation runs alongside the text anywhere on this site. The titles are in English as well, because that is how a khutbah is found at all - but a title is not the khutbah.
The marks
The marks on every khutbah here were put on by hand rather than by a machine. Where a passage is from the Qurʾān its own text is taken exactly and never touched. Where it is a hadith, the marks come from a marked copy of the collection it is in, while the wording stays as it is here. Everything else - the openings, the compiled prose - was written out by hand.
Nothing is published until it has been read through. Where a khutbah quotes a hadith, its source is not shown until a person has checked it against the book it is actually in. A wrong source is worse than none.
Three ways to use one
- Read it here. The whole khutbah, page by page, with a control for how big the text is.
- Take a PDF for your phone. A small page with big text, so it reads without pinching.
- Take a PDF to print. Full A4, for printing onto paper.
All three are the same page. The PDF is not a picture of the text - it is real, selectable Arabic, so it can be searched and read aloud by a screen reader.
Create
Create puts a khutbah together from the same bank of parts the library is built from. Swap any part, change the words, then take it away. It runs on your own device and nothing you make there is saved or published.
